I would give 5 star just for service, morever food was good just that we asked for "Indian spice" level thinking it would not be spicy enough. Food came out actual Indian spicy... nothing wrong with food or restaurant since it was asked by us. Taste was amazing minus the extra spice. Service was so nice that they gave us complimentary desserts at the end. Serving size for price was soooo huge, can easily feed 3 guest per main entree(⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐). Rice is complimentary with entree. They have BYOB. We were helped by ANDREW, (thanks for excellent service).
We ordered:
Tandoori Panner tikka (ask for green chutney)
Chicken 65
Chilli chicken
Panner tikka masala
Kajju butter masala
Malai kofta
Goat curry
Chicken baigan curry
Karahi chicken
Mango lassi
Garlic naan, tandoori roti, lacha paratha.
Excellent sitting arrangements, parking at the back. The place is converted from a bank to restaurant. Recommended to make reservations for party of big numbers. Huge menu. Again... service was exceptional. Would definitely visit again if passing through that way!!
This is my newly discovered Indian restaurant. I have been to several Indian restaurants in this region. I would say this is one of the best. The food comes with a big portion and tastes authentic. The Indian chefs working in the kitchen guarantee the authentic flavors of the food served here. I also learned from the waiter that this venue used to be a bank with at least one hundred years history. Check out the interior design, you will feel it is exactly where India meets the West. Highly recommended!
We looked for something with a real kick, and ohhhh boyyy they have delivered. We had the veggie appetizer, which was good, the samosa was the star here, and garlic nan which was very good. For the entrees we had the paneer tiki masala, Baingan bhaarta(eggplant), and bhindi masala. All of the of the food was delicious, but the eggplant dish stood out the most, it was unlike any other dish we had at the Indian places and was very cravable. The bhinid (okra) was the one ordered by my sister in law, and we absolutely expressed that we wanted it spicy, like we wanted to say goodbyes to our rear ends, and they listened. The dish was definitely spicier than most people can tolerate level(exactly what we asked for) but also packed flavor, and is absolutely not for people starting their spicy adventure. Our server asked us if it was spicy enough, and offered to have something extra hot if that wasn’t enough. After hearing “yes” from sil, which was nuts, he said the chef would prepare something special. The sauce that came out, was probably spicy enough that the next 3 tables next to us could feel the heat, but it was also full of flavor. This place has absolutely scratched the itch on the spice level and I would recommend it to everyone. We have been disappointed by the spice levels so much that this place felt like a breath of fresh air, like a carolina reaper on a baby stomach. The chef was outstanding for creating this hellfire sauce for us, and we made sure he knew that. Our server Andrew was beyond great and made our stay very memorable. This place has cleaned our Sinuses better than any over the counter medication and we will definitely be back. — at Spicy Affair - Indian Cuisine.
We love it here. We've made a habit of coming here on Friday nights. The Naan is all good, the Chicken 65 and Shrimp 65 appetizers are incredible, I always order a Lamb dish and I love both the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Lamb Tikka Masala. The rice is the best. My GF loves the Paneer Malai which is a cheesy, creamy dream come true.
This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. The food is delicious and the portions are large, we always bring something back in a box.
It has a unique atmosphere and feel both on the inside and the outside because of its history as a bank before it was a restaurant. The purple lighting is a little bit dark and weird at first but its easy to adjust.
Andrew, the waiter I've spoken to, is a fantastic and friendly host. I would recommend this place to anybody who was in the area, and have even made the trip from Mount Holly just to enjoy dinner here.
When me and my family walked into Spicy Afdair. The atmosphere was warming and inviting. We waited about 3 or 4 mins to be seated. Once we was seated two other parties came in after us and was seated and giving menu's before us it took them 8 mins after they other parties got there menu for us to get ours. We had Andrew as our waiter as I was hoping we did since the reviews I read he was good so I wanted to see for my self how good was he. We explained to Andrew that we waited 8 mins after the other got theirs and this is not looking good so far. He deeply apologized and asked us what would we like to order. We told him this was our first time there, and what would he suggest we try. He gave us his top picks and what customers mostly order.
For appetizers I got the Samosas beef, my wife got the Masala chicken wings and we got the vegetable Pakora for our daughter who is vegan. The appetizers was great the wing was outstanding as well as the vegetable Pakora. The Samosas was good. Really I was kinda full after eating the appetizers.
We placed our order. I got the curry lamb with Karachi sauce since this is very spicy. Then the chef sent me some of his home made spice sauce which was just as hot as Ghost pepper sauce I eat. Which was very good. I do recommend their curry lamb.
My wife got the butter chicken she said it was good and flavorful she enjoyed her meal. We got our daughter vegetable Biryaani with tofu. Our daughter liked it she an picky eater at 5.
Drinks i had an Mango Lassie which was something different i never had it was thick like an shake but very tasty. The first zip was like very different but after that it was on and popping.
Inconclusion I recommend trying Spicy Affair out. If you are in an rush to eat don't go here. But if you want to relax and not have an waiter or restaurant rushing to get you in and this is the place to go. They take their time in preparing your food and make sure you are comfortable and enjoying yourself with your party.
Give them an try and keep an open mind.
Good chai and naan.. I took a pit stop here for tea on my way to New York only to realize the place is amazing. We were in rush so just had small bite but taste was great!
This place is real treat. I went because it was mentioned as a place to find "actually" spicy food and of course I had to try it. The decor is eye-catching to say the least. The dining room looks incredible. Our server was incredibly …
